PROVIDENCE – The zebras are in the building.
They’re already safely inside the Dunkin’ Donuts Center for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus, which opens tomorrow night at 7.
The zebras travel separately because they don’t like to be with the other animals as they move from city to city, said circus transportation specialist George Catten as he moved one of the 52 circus trailers into place this morning behind the Dunk.
Some of the other circus animals will be on parade later this morning, around 11 a.m., as they get off the train near the 200 block of Kinsley Avenue and walk down West Exchange Street to the Dunk, according to Kris Allard, the local publicist for the circus.
Some zebras may actually join the parade, Allard said this morning.
Horses and elephants will walk as well, she said, but no tigers. “That would be a little dangerous,” she said.
The circus is in town through a 5 p.m. show on Sunday.
