Record low temps for March 7

PROVIDENCE – We’ve hit a record low for today – it’s just 7 degrees out right now, with a wind chill of minus 5 degrees.

The coldest March 7 before today was 9 degrees, back in 2003, according to the National Weather Service.

Too bad we weren’t competing for the record high today – which was 68 degrees back in 1946. But look on the bright side. We’ve got an expected high today of 24 degrees, which is a bit warmer than yesterday’s high of 22.

We could have some more snow tomorrow and a sunny day on Friday. Then, there’s a 30 percent chance we’ll have a rainy Saturday and Sunday.
