R.I. Home Depot, Job Lot to hire new workers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A new Ocean State Job Lot in Cranston and Home Depot stores in Middletown and Westerly have announced plans to hire up to 70 employees, 50 at Job Lot and 20 at Home Depot. The stores are partnering with netWORKri, a division of the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, to fill the positions.

Ocean State Job Lot is looking to hire for a new store, scheduled to open in April, on Elmwood Avenue in Cranston. Available jobs include supervisors, department heads, visual merchandiser, maintenance associate, receiving associate and sales personnel. Interviews will be held at the Providence netWORKri Career Center, 1 Reservoir Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 15 to Feb. 19. Prior customer service or retail experience is preferred.

Home Depot stores in Middletown and Westerly are looking to fill up to 20 jobs for cashiers, garden sales associates, lot attendenats and freight team associates. Applicants can apply online at http://careers.homedepot.com/cg or in person on Feb. 18 at either the Middletown store, 878 West Main Road, from 10 a.m. to noon or at the Westerly store, 120 Franklin St., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Most of the jobs require weekend availability. Prior customer service or retail experience preferred.
