PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Governor Carcieri announced Thursday that he has vetoed more legislation among the scores of bills passed by lawmakers in their two-day special session at the end of October. On Tuesday, the governor vetoed more than two dozen bills, including a bill giving domestic partners the right to claim the bodies of -- and make funeral arrangements for -- their loved ones. Last week, the governor announced the veto of a fee for saltwater fishing licenses. It's possible he may issue more vetoes. Here are the bills most recently vetoed, linked to his messages explaining his reasons for doing so: Senate Bill No.937, by Tassoni House Bill No.6057, by Corvese, Melo, Palumbo |
