JAMESTOWN, R.I. -- The Rhode Island Turnpike & Bridge Authority has set a Dec. 31 deadline for redeeming Pell Bridge tokens. The tokens were replaced by the E-ZPass sytem in January. The authority will pay 83 cents for each token returned by 5 p.m. at the end of December. Tokens may be redeemed at the authority's customer-service center on East Shore Road in Jamestown, or at participating chambers of commerce in Rhode Island. The E-ZPass customer service center is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The following chambers of commerce will redeem tokens: Cranston Chamber of Commerce, East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, North Central Chamber of Commerce, Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, Narragansett Chamber of Commerce, and North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce.
