As Helgran went to answer the door at his house on Middle Street, a man started shoving it open, said Detective Donti Rosciti. Helgran tried to push the door back, until he saw the butt of a handgun clutched in the man's hand, Rosciti said. Two men wearing gloves and carrying handguns shoved their way into Helgran's house, tied up the 53-year-old man and left him on the floor, Rosciti said. Helgran told the police that he told the men to take whatever they wanted, Rosciti said. The men ransacked the house and ran through Helgran's pockets, Rosciti said. They found cash, grabbed a computer and a watch, and fled within minutes, the detective said. Helgran freed himself from his bindings and ran next door to call for help, Rosciti said. The police believe Helgran may have been specifically targeted by his assailants, Rosciti said, declining further comment. Helgran is involved with wholesale jewelry sales, according to records kept by the Secretary of State's office. Rosciti said there have been no other reported home invasions or burglaries in the neighborhood recently. Anyone with information about the home invasion may contact the Pawtucket police at (401) 727-9100. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. Home invasions are a scary thing, and becoming more common. Install deadbolts, never answer the door to strangers, there is also this site called www.freealarm.org which offers free GE Alarm systems. A monitored home security system is probably the best choice for protecting you, your family, and your home.

"Robert L. Helgran, who testified against legislation to criminalize indoor prostitution at a Senate hearing last June. Helgran, 52, says he subleases a converted factory on Derry Street to a company which owns Central Health spa.
Helgran moved to Rhode Island 17 years ago, after spending just over a year in a Florida prison during the late 1980s on felony convictions for grand theft and burglary. He later married a Korean woman who managed Central Health. The Providence police arrested his wife during a raid in late 2005, but the case against her was later dismissed, said Helgran’s lawyer, Michael J. Kiselica."

^^What does that have to do with a home invasion. This is an obvious attempt to downplay a violent crime on an unsuspecting citizen. The author of the quote was also so much of a coward that their screen name is anon.o.mous.You are a little person with a little voice and you get your jollies out of trying to smear a victims name. How would you feel if that happened to you or someone in your family. You should be ashamed of yourself.
