SWANSEA, Mass. -- The guy owed money to Gina M. Andreozzi and she apparently decided it was time he paid up, according to the police. On Tuesday night, Andreozzi, 21, and her younger brother, Anthony, 19, kidnapped the man at gunpoint from a rap-music studio in Bristol, R.I., and drove him back to his residence on Barneyville Road, where she tried to break into the apartment, Swansea Deputy Police Chief Robert Furtado said. But the plan backfired when the man's screams for help drew attention, and the local and state police. The man escaped, and after a two-hour armed standoff with the police outside the family's home, the Andreozzi siblings and their father ended up in jail in time for Thanksgiving. The police realized there was trouble just before 11 p.m., when a woman reported hearing a man screaming and banging from inside a white car parked at 5 Barneyville Road, Furtado said. The car was already gone when the first officer arrived, but other officers on their way to the scene noticed a white Cadillac parked around the corner, at the Andreozzis' place at 434 Old Providence Road. As the police from Swansea and Rehoboth pulled in, four people standing around the Cadillac took off into the house and backyard, Furtado said. People inside the house were screaming for the officers to get lost, the deputy chief said. And then, moments later, the kidnap victim came running out of the house -- with Mario Andreozzi, 56, the siblings' father, shouting racial slurs and chasing him with a pump-action shotgun, Furtado said. As the victim ran to safety, the officers drew their guns on Andreozzi. He went back into the house, but then returned to the front porch, where he tossed the shotgun onto a bench, Furtado said. But as Officer Mark Foley reached for the gun, Andreozzi grabbed him, Furtado said. As the two men fought over the gun, Anthony Andreozzi came out of the house and took the shotgun back inside, Furtado said. Andreozzi ran behind his son into the house, but then came back out. Andreozzi challenged the officer to a fight, Furtado said. Foley held out the Taser. Furtado said Andreozzi swung his fists and taunted the officer: "You're gonna taze me? Go ahead and taze me!" Foley did. Two hours later, the police and state troopers were able to get the rest of the Andreozzi family to surrender. Officers Foley and Donald Dibiaso had taken cover behind a cruiser as they worked to get the family out of the house safely, Furtado said. Later, the police discovered that the Andreozzis had collection of weapons inside the house. The state police found four handguns and an assortment of shotguns -- and Gina Andreozzi's 2-year-old son, sleeping in his crib, Furtado said. Mario Andreozzi, his daughter, Gina, and her brother, Anthony, were all arrested and are awaiting their arraignment in Fall River District Court Wednesday afternoon. Anthony M. Andreozzi faces 11 charges: assault and battery on a police officer; assault and battery to collect a loan; kidnapping; armed robbery; accessory after the fact; possession of a firearm without an firearm identification card; possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card; disorderly conduct; disturbing the peace; conspiracy; and resisting arrest. Gina M. Andreozzi faces six charges: attempted breaking and entering a building in the nighttime; assault and battery to collect a loan; armed robbery; kidnapping; conspiracy; and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card. Mario Andreozzi faces six charges: assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a police officer; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; disorderly conduct; resisting arrest; disturbing the police; and a civil-rights violation. What a group....pointing a gun at a cop, taunting to get tazed...disarming, then rearming.....They are all lucky they didn't get a belly full of bullets, and the cops probably would have be in the right. Family of Fools. I think dash cams should have audio, I bet all those clips they show on the news would be a different story if they had Audio. Taunting and verbal threats to a cop are prevalent; but the public judges cops by video only. I just say, watch your bellies fools, this is how they get full.
