I can't exactly figure out the patterns intended but if there are only two effective lanes for through traffic (traffic that does not wish to interface with Providence) and they have to shift lanes once or twice as, say, they make their way from Massachusetts I95 to I95 south of Providence I fear a minor disaster. As engineers remind us the "throttle points" are what determines the average speed of the transit. As you come from Pawtucket and head to Warwick there used to be a minimum of three effective lanes for through traffic. Has it been reduced to two?
