DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- A New Bedford woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a four-car crash on Route 195 in Dartmouth when another vehicle crossed the median strip and crashed into her car. Susan M. Lepage, 46, was ejected from the 2005 Ford Mustang she was driving and was pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The driver of the car that crashed into the Mustang is charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, marked-lanes violation and speeding, according to a statement issued by the state police. The state police have identified that driver as Dakota Jones, 21, of Marston Mills, a village in the Cape Cod town of Barnstable. The police say Jones was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi Diamanate west on Route 195 when the vehicle crossed over the median strip and crashed head-on with Lepage's Mustang. The accident occurred Wednesday at 4:45 p.m., one mile west of Exit 13 in Dartmouth. In the head-on collision, the Mustang was pushed into a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which rolled over and struck a 2005 Toyota Prius. The Jeep driver -- Daniel Allende, 29, of Fairhaven, Mass. -- and Jones were taken to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford with minor injuries. The driver of the Prius, identified as Amy Lopes, 20, of New Bedford, was not taken to a hospital, according to the police. All eastbound lanes of the highway were closed at exit 12 for about two hours, according to the police. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil.
