SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. -- A 21-year-old Charlestown man was indicted Friday in a motorcycle fatality in Richmond, Atty. Gen. Patrick C. Lynch announced. A Washington County grand jury handed up a secret indictment that charges Henry D. Lamb, of 70 Columbia Heights Oval, Charlestown, with driving under the influence of an intoxicant with death resulting; reckless driving with death resulting; and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver's license. Lynch said the charges stemmed from an accident July 12 on Beaver River Road in Richmond that killed his passenger, Kimberly Barbera, 20, of South Kingstown. The accused is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in Washington County Superior Court on Sept. 21. The fact that an indictment is secret means that the indictment was not the result of an arrest by the police or a complaint to the District Court, according to a statement by Lynch. |
