It's only a rumor and it may be too strange to be true, but the Anchorage Daily News reported Saturday in its Alaska Ear column that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is rumored to be moving to Rhode Island. The column reports that Palin has "finally decided" what she is going to do with the rest of her life, and her plan is to settle "in Rhode Island (Huh?) with $7 million from her book and a contract with FOX. And, oh yes, she's never running for office again." The report goes out of its way to stress that this is only a rumor, the latest of many, and may well be untrue. "Ear doesn't vouch for any of this so please don't write to complain about how it's just another silly rumor," the column says. "Of course it's not true (probably) but it's not untruer than all the other stuff being written." Giovanni Cicione, Rhode Island's Republican party chairman, said the rumor was news to him. "We would certainly welcome her," he said. He added: "Anyone who wants to move to Rhode Island, we would have to question their sanity." (Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported the date of the Anchorage Daily News posting.)

A thought from “Myopic Mike” …
Palin versus the Weed … I’d love to see that one.
That’d be a bona fide gun-toting Republican running against the give-it-away, let’s-support-them-all Democrat.
I’ll help her to move here! “Buddy” can be her campaign manager before he becomes her Chief of Staff.
The Journal would most likely back her and the Welfare-Rights Activists would have to hire a $200K per year lobbyist.
Please, Sarah, stay in Alaska … the political bloodshed would be awful, and we’d still be no better off.

Oh, heavens no...
Lemme guess, WHJJ made her an offer.

That would be great, and it's time to unload the general assembly of all the career legislators, bring back a real 2 or 3 party system. Time for the Democrats to go Bye Bye.

Hmmm. Maybe she'll swap houses with me. I don't think this state has room for both of us.
At least we'd never run out of RI jokes if we could claim her as a resident I suppose.

pro - she's somewhat attractive
con - she'll lower the average RI IQ

This is enough to make a person give up coffee milk for life!

Sarah's too smart to do something as stupid as moving TO Rhode Island. All the smart people are moving out.

Rhode Island needs something to dispel the apathy. Sarah Palin's presence would at least make the career Democrats scramble enough to pretend they're doing something. That would be a start.
Maybe she thinks RI is a red state. Maybe she heard our state bird is the Rhode Island Red and thought it was a political statement. Or, maybe she's just an idiot.

Why would she want to give up economic opportunity and personal liberties by moving here? Makes no sense whatsoever.
At least in Alaska, oppressive media coverage requires they actually shell out some decent cash getting there and back (staying there is pretty expensive too) due to its location. Here, the mainstream morons will be so close to their hubs in New York and DC that it would cost very little to hound Governor Palin day in and day out.

The head of the RI Republican Party thinks RI is so bad no one should move here? What the...? If it is so bad, Mr. Ciccione, you should move away. That attitude will not help anything, and only proves your party ids not interested in solutions.
Please no, I will have to move sooner than planned. Let her stay in Alaska.
