This special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service for the Rhode Island area as of 7:22 a.m. Thursday: At 720 am EDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm with the potential to produce wind gusts to 40 mph and small hail 3 miles north of South Kingstown... moving north at 30 mph.
