BOSTON (AP) -- Voice of the Faithful, the lay Catholic group founded in the worst days of the church's clergy sex abuse scandal, says it may be forced to cease operations unless it raises $60,000 by the end of this month. The group's leaders sent out a letter Monday to its members saying it is "at the crossroads of financial survival." The group says it needs to raise the money to pay its operating costs for July and August. After that, the group hopes to raise additional money so it can continue to operate long-term. Its mission is to give lay people a greater role in the Catholic Church. |
