Police Chief Jack Shippee said officers caught McBride and Adam P. Davis, 21, of Narragansett as they were burglarizing a house on Cedar Road on Friday at 1:34 a.m. McBride ran into the woods. Davis was arrested in the getaway truck, parked outside the house.

The police recovered stolen property in the truck, Shippee said.

Davis, who was on probation on a misdemeanor larceny charge, was charged with felony attempted larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, and receiving stolen goods, a misdemeanor.

He is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston as a probation violator. A violation hearing will be held Wednesday.

The police recovered more property that had been stolen in burglaries in Narragansett, South Kingstown, and Charlestown at McBride's apartment in South County Commons, Shippee said.
