By Amanda Milkovits PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The police are searching for a man who robbed the Sovereign Bank branch at 212 Thayer St. at 11 a.m. Tuesday. A clean-shaven man in his mid-20s, the only customer in the bank at the time, walked up to a teller with a note, Maj. Thomas F. Oates III said. The note said, "I have a gun. Give me the money," Oates said. No gun was shown, he said. The man also handed the teller a bag from a fast food restaurant to put the money in. The teller complied, and the man took off with the cash in the bag. |
