While only so many will be able to attend the memorial to pop star Michael Jackson in person, people around the world will have the opportunity to watch it live via the Web. Projo.com will provide coverage of the service Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in the form of the latest news, live video streams, interactive features and more from the Associated Press and other sources. The service is expected to start at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. An anchored broadcast from The Associated Press will be available starting at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time, earlier if events warrant it. The starting time may be earlier if events call for it. More than 1.6 million people registered for free tickets to Jackson's downtown memorial. A total of 8,750 people were chosen to receive two tickets each. The family announced that participants will include Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Usher, Lionel Richie, Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer and Martin Luther King III. Jackson died June 25 at age 50. He sold 750 albums and was twice elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. -- With reports from The Associated Press |
