PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A Providence man, described by police as a street gang leader, has been charged with possession of a firearm and drugs after a search of the suspect's house in the city's West End. Nirut "Shorty" Seng, 23, of 45 Hanover St., was charged with the two felony counts after the police, on June 25, allegedly found a shotgun in the rear bedroom of the house and 73 tablets of Ecstasy, the designer drug, bagged in a nearby closet. Seng was charged in District Court, Providence, and released on surety bail. On Oct. 1, 2007, Seng, whom the police described as a leader of the Young Bloods, was shot in the left side of the buttocks outside his home on Hanover Street. Witnesses told police that a passing car opened fire and sprayed gunfire at him while he was walking up the front steps. Seng refused to cooperate with investigators. He spent several days at Rhode Island Hospital, where he recovered from the gunshot wound. In February 2008, Seng was featured in "Gangs of Providence," a multimedia package that appeared in the Sunday Journal and online on projo.com CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. I hope he gets life in prison, time to clean up the streets.

Why is he out on bail? It would seem to me like cleaning up the streets means, keeping thug life like this behind bars.
I'm sure he had a "nice" judge.

I hope the "Young Bloods" have a comprehensive benefit package that paid for his hospitalization for getting shot in the backside. Or is this considered workers compensation since he was injured in a work related accident? Either way, I'm sure Rhode Island Hospital was delighted to care for this liability - I mean - patient.
