BOSTON (AP) -- The Blue Angels say they've changed their plans for a low-level photo flight over the USS Constitution in Boston. A spokesman for the aerial demonstration team said a planned Wednesday flight will focus instead on downtown Boston, since the historic ship is undergoing renovation. FAA spokesman Jim Peters said Tuesday the seven F-18 fighters and a transport plane will leave North Kingstown, R.I., and possibly photograph the Naval War College in Newport. The planes are expected in Boston between 1:30 and 2 p.m. and will fly above 1,000 feet. The flight could be canceled if weather or other conditions aren't favorable. Federal authorities were criticized in April after an unannounced New York City flight because it reminded some panicked viewers of the 2001 terrorist attacks. |
