WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- The State Police have arrested a local man on charges he sold unstamped cigarettes, altered out-of-state cigarettes, and marijuana out of two stores he managed in Woonsocket. Dung H. Le, 35, of 172 High St., 1st floor, was arrested Friday morning as he opened one of the businesses, Lee's Convenience Store. He was carrying an undisclosed amount of marijuana prepared for sale, according to the State Police. Additional amounts of marijuana were found hidden throughout the store, the police said. The police seized about $1,800 in cash and numerous packages and cartons of cigarettes that either lacked the proper Rhode Island tax stamp or had been stamped with altered out-of-state tax stamps from both Lee's Convenience store, 198 Front St., and The Corner Convenience Store, 1046 Cass Ave. Dung Le was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, sale of unstamped cigarettes, and forgery and counterfeiting, tampering, reuse of stamps or containers.
