PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The commencement of water taxi service between Providence and Newport has been delayed, according to the operator, NextMarine LLC. The company said that the new launch date will be July 15 instead of the planned July 3. Installation of a canvas canopy is holding things up, the company said on Monday.
