The boy was treated by local emergency medical staff and taken by ambulance to Hasbro Children's Hospital, according to a statement released Saturday night by South Kingstown Police Sgt. Michael Natale. Police this morning declined to release the names of the boy or the driver, saying the accident is under investigation.
