By Bryan Rourke Santa Mamba, Los Sugar Kings and Infusion Experience have been named the winners of Sound Search '09, part of this summer's Sound Session music festival, produced by the City of Providence and the Providence Black Repertory Company. The three groups, chosen by public vote, will receive paid contracts to perform at this year's Sound Session (July 5-11) and at next year's. They'll also receive a paid booking at Black Repertory Theatre's XXodus Cafe, which hosted the audition for this year's performers, presenting nearly three dozen musical acts since February. Sound Session will bring more than 30 acts to downtown Providence next month. (This entry was first posted at 1:30 p.m.) |
