Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., meets with Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court, in an office at the U.S. Capitol Building on Thursday.

After the meeting, Reed described Sotomayor as "a very impressive nominee," according to a statement from Reed's office.

"She is a superb jurist with a great deal of experience and an amazing success story. I look forward to her confirmation hearings in July and to examining her record more closely," Reed said.
