PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A cold front is expected to hit portions of the state Friday afternoon and into the evening bringing thunderstorms, severe at times, and small hail. The storm system is moving northeast at about 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s this weekend. For more weather and regular updates, see projo.com/weather.
