RI Relay for Life events on despite weather forecast

WESTERLY, R.I. -- The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life's three local events will go on Friday as planned, rain or shine, a spokeswoman for the events said.

Teams of volunteers will participate in 18-hour relays in Westerlystarting at 4 p.m. at the high school track, 23 Ward Ave.; and starting at 6 p.m. in Burrillville's Branch River Park by the middle school and South Kingstown's Curtis Corner Middle School.

The weather forecast calls for rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds -- and possibly some small hail.
