BARRINGTON, R.I. - - The house hunter showed no interest in the price of the house or how many bedrooms. She was more interested in looking through the cupboards, the police say. The Barrington police worked on a suspect and passed out a flier to Realtors with the woman's picture, but nothing developed until this past Sunday. That's when a Realtor showing a house at 4 Karen Drive became suspicious of a woman looking at the house, followed her and says she spied her taking prescription pills from a cabinet, according to Barrington Police Sgt. Josh T. Birrell. The Realtor confronted the woman. Later on Sunday, at about 2:15 p.m., the police arrested Linda Grablick, 50, of 214 Riverside Dr., East Providence, Birrell said. They found a list of open house street maps and several open house fliers from Barrington, Birrell said. Grablick, 50, who is retired, could not be reached for comment. The Barrington police charged Grablick with one felony count of larceny over $500 and three counts of larceny of under $500. She was arraigned at the police station Sunday and released on $4,000 personal recognizance, according to Birrell. |
