NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The police on Friday arrested two juveniles in separate cases involving domestic assault.

In one, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on charges of assaulting his girlfriend by grabbing her around the neck. He was taken to the Rhode Island Training School where he was placed under the school's custody.

In the other, a 12-year-old boy was charged with assault, vandalism and disorderly conduct after his mother complained that he punched in the kitchen window and began throwing things around their Woonasquatucket Avenue home and -- while on the way to Hasbro Children's Hospital for cuts to his hand -- allegedly declared he would kill his mother while she was sleeping. The boy's mother said it all began when her son became upset over missing a television program.

The police said the boy will be staying with his grandmother.
