PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A man arrested after a high-speed chase in Providence last August has been indicted on a federal charge of being a felon in possession of firearms. U.S. Attorney Robert Clark Corrente and Marc Curtin, resident agent in charge of the Providence office of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Chance, who had exited the car, was arrested after a struggle. The police reported finding two handguns stuffed into his waistband. A records check showed that Chance had been convicted in North Carolina of discharging a firearm in an occupied motor vehicle. If convicted, Chance faces a maximum term of 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. |
