PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch has concluded his one-year term as president of the National Association of Attorneys General. Lynch's office announced Friday he passed the gavel to Nebraska's attorney general, Jon Bruning, this week. Lynch was the first Rhode Island attorney general to head the association. During Lynch's term, Craigslist made an agreement with 43 states to replace its "erotic services" ad category with an adult section to be reviewed by its employees. The move followed scrutiny after a Boston man was charged with killing a masseuse he met through Craigslist's online classifieds. Lynch said his focus was to strengthen protection for children and teenagers in social networking areas, and more needs to be done as technology grows more sophisticated and far-reaching. |
