PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gay marriage advocates in Rhode Island are appealing to legislators to pass a law before the end of the legislative session. Members of Marriage Equality Rhode Island and Rep. Frank Ferri, D-Warwick, are holding a State House rally on Saturday at noon, asking lawmakers to support measures that would allow gay couples to marry. Kathy Kushnir, the organization's executive director, says a law needs to be passed before the session comes to a close later this summer. But Christopher Plante, executive director of the National Organization of Marriage's Rhode Island chapter, says while advocates have the right to rally, they do not have the right to redefine marriage. Rhode Island is the lone New England state to not allow gay marriage. New Hampshire became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage on Wednesday. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. I really think it is time for people to start to worry about what is going on under thier own roofs.
Too many people out there judging others when they themself live in glass houses.
No one should have the right to tell people who they should marry. Mind your own business.
