PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Fireworks will light the night sky at Roger Williams Park on Monday beginning at 9:30 p.m., Mayor David N. Cicilline announced on Thursday. The best area for viewing the fireworks is along Frederick C. Green Boulevard, the road that runs along the perimeter of the park from the Museum of Natural History in Providence to Park Avenue in Cranston. The fireworks display is among several evening activities associated with the U.S. Conference of Mayors annual meeting in Providence.

After the events of the past week with the Mayors lies and Projo errors, the fireworks have already ocurred. Whose's paying for these Fireworks? Hopefully, not the Providence taxpayers.

No - the Providence taxpayers are already paying through the nose for bloated, outrageous firefighter contracts -- with 90% of the money not even staying in the City. What an outrage. Keeping standing up to them Mayor Cicilline.

He wants to cut firefighters to pay for rescues, but magically there's money for fireworks. What a world.

Does anyone else see the irony here? Of all things, fireworks? Won't they need firemen on overtime to oversee those festivities?
