EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- An East Providence man whose motorcycle crashed Friday in North Smithfield died of "multiple blunt injuries of torso and extremities," according to the Medical Examiner's Office said Monday. Carlos Lemos, 40, of 142 Central Ave., was riding his motorcycle northbound on Route 146A, known in that stretch as Eddie Dowling Highway, around 5:45 a.m. when his motorcycle veered off the road striking the guardrail, the police said. The force of the impact threw Lemos off the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It's unknown whether he was wearing a helmet. Lemos is the seventh person to die in a motorcycle crash this year. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. Vicious comments, personal attacks and profanity won't be published.
