By Mike McDermott Seven of the competitors scheduled to be in Rhode Island on Monday for the start of the CVS Caremark Classic are currently playing at the U.S. Open on Long Island. With the rain forcing delays in the action at Bethpage Black, it is possible some of the competitors in the CVS might not arrive in time to compete at RICC, not just for the Sunday pro-am but for the main event, as well. Co-host Brad Faxon said that would be disappointing, but not an impossible hurdle to overcome. "We have more than seven people ready to play if they're needed," Faxon said. -- Paul Kenyon |
