Extra police patrols will be posted throughout town to enforce the vehicle restraint laws. Extra patrols will continue over Memorial Day Weekend and through the summer to strengthen speeding and driving while under the influence enforcement through "Operation Blue Riptide," a statewide campaign against drunken driving. All programs are funded through a federal grant. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. Vicious comments, personal attacks and profanity won't be published. Nice but the police in Woonsocket should really pay attention to the speeders on the side streets. You take your life in your hands walking the neighborhoods! Winter and Gaskill Streets are like the Indianapolis 500!

I agree with Mary. The town would not be in dire financial straits if they actually enforced the driving and noise laws and handed out fines. Woonsocket cops are a joke and I would call the SP before calling them.
