SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island has a new dean for its College of Engineering -- Professor Raymond Wright, who recently served as interim dean. The appointment was announced via e-mail by Provost Donald H. DeHayes, and took effect Sunday. Wright began working at URI in 1981 as an assistant professor, and has held multiple positions over the years. These include serving as acting chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, acting director of the Rhode Island Water Resources Center, and interim director of the URI Transportation Center. Wright was named a distinguished engineering professor in 1997 and received the Albert E. Carlotti Award for faculty excellence in engineering in 1996. |
