PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Local parents are invited to attend the school department's annual spring parent conference Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Juanita Sanchez complex on Thurbers Avenue.

The keynote speaker will be Anne Henderson, a nationally recognized expert on how parent involvement affects student learning.

The full-day workshop is free to all Providence parents and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Translation is available upon request.

Pre-registration is suggested but not required. Parents who wish to attend should call the parent center at 456-0686.
