PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The capital city will hold its first Chad Brown Community Day on Saturday.

The day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a neighborhood cleanup of the public housing complex, followed by a cookout at noon and raffles and games in the afternoon.

At 2 p.m., members of the Providence Police Department and members of the Chad Brown Recreation Center will go head to head in a basketball match.

The event is sponsored by the Providence Police Department, the Chad Brown Recreation Center, Family Service of Rhode Island, Department of Corrections Probation and Parole, PAVE (Partnership to Address Violence through Education), the Urban League of Rhode Island, and Making-Faces precision makeup artistry.
