NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The town may not have enough money to pay employees what they are owed on June 12, Mayor Charles A. Lombardi said Friday, citing the town's $10-million deficit crisis. Employees were informed about the potential for a "payless pay day," Lombardi said. The town will pay as much as it can to each employee, he said. It might take between one day and one week before the town can pay employees in full, according to the town's director of administration, Rocco Gesualdi. Gesualdi said he cannot specify the exact amount of the shortfall. Meanwhile, the town is trying to collect monies that would help it overcome the pinch. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. Mayor Lombardi is just another game player in RI politics. He doesn't have to worry about his house getting foreclosed on. He could can less about public employees.

We can't pay town employees but we can pay for the Memorial Day Parade and the 4th of July fireworks. This doesn't make sense to me.
One other thing how did town hall employees get 6% pay raise if NO money in budget. STOP Spending.
