BARRINGTON, R.I. -- One or more members of the Barrington High School lacrosse team stole an iPod and approximately $180 in cash from the locker room at the Moses Brown School on the East Side of Providence, the Barrington High principal said. John R. Gray, the Barrington principal, said that the incident occurred during a game at Moses Brown School in Providence early last week. He also said that one of the Barrington players has since returned the iPod and added that school officials are hoping that the money will be returned. Gray said details of the incident are sketchy because the matter remains under investigation by both the Providence and Barrington police. The Barrington detective investigating the case was off-duty Tuesday and could not be reached for comment. "We will cooperate fully with the police and Moses Brown," Gray said. "We are embarrassed by this incident. We will give the kids every opportunity to step forward." Gray said he isn't sure how many Barrington teens were involved in the incident, but said that disciplinary action will be taken when the investigation is over. . These Barrington HS kids are Out of Control! I say we bus them to Hope High and give them a taste of Real Life.

Wow these kids in Borrington must be real bored with their lives to pulling stuff like this. Did they feel inferior to the Moses Brown kids. What a joke the community of Barrington is. If a kid from Central pulled this he would already be at the training school

Hey, the cost of a keg keeps going up and what's $180 to a MB kid. he'll just have to usse his ATM card to get some more money from the trust account.....

I'm surprised this kid didn't already have an iPod, he is from Barrington right? Oh, I know! It must have got lost under the drivers seat of mummy and daddy's BMW on some drunken night with all the rest of his Barrington buddies...what a classy bunch....mummy will probably wear a headscarf and sunglasses around town until this blows over....

why is this news worthy?

Wow all very intelligent comments!!!!!!!!! One person in a community doesn't make up an entire community.

Barrington Resident,
It is the cumulative actions within your community which has given Barrington a BLACK EYE. Your parents continue to buy their children out of trouble. That plea bargain is another example. He drove the boat at the poor victim and will probably get time served for his home confinement. He will not see a day in jail. When parents start acting responsible and hold their kids responsible for their actions these stupid comments will stop.

Marquez,
Since I DO take responsibility for my children's actions and I do live in Barrington I do take offense to grouping the entire community together by a single situation. I do have a child in high school who is a VERY good student and is active in sports and DOESN'T DESERVE to be put in the same category with some children who are out of control.
So only kids in Barrington drink and get into trouble right? Where the hell did you go up...with the AMISH? No it is because the town is considered "well off" that the media thinks this is news worthy. If this incident happened at Central Falls you WOULD HAVE NEVER READ THIS ON PROJO!!!!
