The Board of Governors for Higher Education has appointed a seven-member search committee to find a replacement for departing Higher Education Commissioner Jack R. Warner, who announced he will take a similar job overseeing South Dakota's public colleges in July. Board of Governors Chairman Frank Caprio said he would serve as an ex-officio member of the search committee, naming Board of Governors vice-chairman Michael Ryan head of the search. Two other Board of Governors members have also been named, Daniel Ryan and Brenda Dann-Messier. The other members are: Sarah Dowling, a shareholder of Adler, Pollock & Sheehan, P.C. and former chairwoman of the Board of Governors; Edward Quinlan, president of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island; and John Muggeridge, general manager of Fidelity Investments. Caprio said in an earlier interview that he hoped to have a new commissioner in place by the time Warner leaves July 8. |
