The Coast Guard reportedly rescued three boaters sailing from Georgia to Newport early Thursday morning after their sailboat ran aground in the fog off Fire Island, New York.

The three men were aboard the sailboat Gwaihir when the vessel ran aground off the Long Island coastline about 3 a.m. Thursday, according to a story in Newsday.

The men were uninjured when they were rescued in an area close to Sayville, the newspaper said.
