Larry Lucchino, president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox, will be the featured commencement speaker at Bryant University's graduation-day ceremonies May 16. Lucchino will also receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree from Bryant. The undergraduate commencement is to be held at 10 a.m. at Bryant's campus in Smithfield. The university said it expects more than 800 students to take part. Lucchino manages Boston's Major League Baseball franchise on a day-to-day basis, in collaboration with the club's principal owner, John W. Henry, and its chairman, Tom Werner. Lucchino previously worked with the Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres. A native of Pittsburgh, he is a graduate of Princeton University and the Yale Law School. |
