WASHINGTON -- Patrick Kennedy is blogging.

The Democratic Congressman from Rhode Island has sent an e-mail through his campaign committee that urges readers to ``check out my blog on the Huffington Post.'' Kennedy's May 12 blog item, similar in tone to a news release, opens this way:

''The recent outbreak of the swine flu serves as a stark reminder about the need for comprehensive health care reform in this country.''
