By Tatiana Pina WARWICK, R.I. -- Police Chief Stephen McCartney confirmed late Friday morning that his investigators are working with the Boston police to determine whether the armed robbery of a woman at the Holiday Inn Express late Thursday night is linked to the slaying of a woman at a Boston hotel just two days earlier. McCartney said that there are "strong similiarities" between the attacks, including how the women appeared to have met their attackers and the description of the person who attacked them. Boston police also say the killer may have been involved in the robbery last week of a Las Vegas woman at the Westin Copley Hotel, according to the Associated Press. All three women were advertising services on Craigslist that led to liaisons at the hotel rooms, police said. McCartney said the Warwick robbery victim had met her attacker through her Craigslist ad -- which the chief would not discuss in specifics -- and made arrangements with him by phone to meet at that hotel. Once there, the man bound the robbery victim with plastic cord and pointed a gun at her, demanding money, McCartney said. The victim's husband then burst in from the hallway and confronted the attacker, the chief said. The attacker pointed the gun at the husband, but then ran off, the chief said. The man is described as 6 feet tall, clean cut, with blond hair, a black coat and jeans. McCartney said that description appeared to be similiar to a man the police are looking to question in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Julissa Brisman at the Marriott Copley Place in Boston. Brisman was found shot to death, one wrist bound with plastic cord, at the luxury hotel in Boston. The Boston police have said that Brisman was advertising massages on Craigslist, an online advertising Web site. Although McCartney had said previously that the arrangements involving the woman at the Holiday Inn appeared to be over sex for money, he would not discuss that at a later press conference. McCartney said he hadn't yet seen the advertisement in Craigslist. McCartney would not identify the robbery victim or her husband. He would only say that the woman is from Las Vegas, and now working as an exotic dancer at the Cadillac Lounge in Providence, and "was also dedicated in these side services." He would not elaborate. Why would a woman advertise sex for money -- and bring her husband along? Seems like an odd arrangement but, then again, anyone who would advertise for sex on the Internet is not your average person.

Maybe the woman and her husband were going to rob the robber? I'd like to hear the reason for the husband going to the room where his wife had sex for money with another person.

Who's exploiting whom here? Oh, I forgot, in Rhode Island prostitution indoors is legal. Was her husband planning to shake down the customer but the customer did it first?

The only industry left in RI is the sex industry. This woman should be arrested by the State Police for not reporting her income.

This isn't about consenting adults fulfilling their kinky desires, it's about someone misleading another for the fulfillment of an alterior motive. Don't pass judgment on the victim, for whatever reason the husband was there, thank goodness he was, given the outcome of the situation. This man is a dangerous serial offender who will continue his robbing and killing spree until he's caught. Let's hope no one has to get hurt before that happens.

by the way folks,it's ulterior motive, not alterior motive! it's true, you learn something new every day!

The husband is obviously her pimp. The job of the pimp is to not only assist in sales and marketing, but also give protection. In this case it worked perfectly!

Obviously her husband was acting as her pimp/bodyguard. While I don't agree with what she was doing, thankfully her husband was there to help otherwise she may have ended up killed like the woman in Boston.
On a side note, I love the way RI is so anti-business, yet let's the sex industry thrive. Something definitely wrong with this mentality

So much for prostitution being touted as a "victimless crime".

First of all, if a women wants to have sex for money thats her business not ours!! What is supposed to be our business is the way these woman were attacked, and hope and pray that the police find this discusting, ugly man. People are worrying more about this woman not reporting her income? Someone stated "she should be arrested," You have serious issues. There was a LIFE at stake here do you understand that?? Well we all no where your heart and thoughts are, imagine if it was someone close to you? I bet your thoughts would change, huh? Escort services always send their women with body-guards, just incase of NASTY MEN like this, so her husband was their protect her.

Is this the alleged "craigslist killing spree" killer? The word-of mouth rumors make it seem a lot more creepy than ALMOST 3 robberies.
As for the victim and her husband, I have nothing but respect for them. Women who exploit men's willingness to pay women for the mere prospect of sex are just being smart. and a husband who is willing to let his wife take advantage of these men and protect her is the absolute definition of a supportive husband.
