WARWICK, R.I. --- A trial date has been set in District Court for a costume-shop owner accused of cyberstalking a former customer and coworker.

Ann Bruno, 59, of West Warwick, will stand trial on June 3 on a cyberstalking charge. Bruno is accused of making more than 6,000 phone calls to Tracy Sisson, of Cranston, and filling out Internet inquiries from companies that later called Sisson to follow up.

Sisson said she received a poor product from Bruno's costume making company, Bruna Puppets and Costumes, in Providence in 2001. Sisson said she called to cancel a pending order and Bruno refused to return her deposit.

In 2006, Bruno was laid off from her job at Able Financial Services, where she worked with Sisson. Sisson had informed her boss she planned to leave the company because she was uncomfortable working with Bruno.

In September 2006, Sisson said, she began getting phone calls and e-mails from companies regarding applications that she had not filled out. She also received a number of phone calls from a woman who would hang up after asking for Sisson's husband.

The police said that they found a number of the Internet inquiries originated from the Cranston Public Library on Monday mornings, so on March 13, they went to the library to investigate. There, they said, they found Bruno typing Sisson's name into an online application. When the police confronted her, she began deleting the information from the application, according to the police.
