PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- A Florida Web site has reported that Brother Daniel Aubin, president of St. Raphael Academy, has been appointed as president of Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala. The ocala.com site attributed the announcement to Bishop Thomas Wenski of the Diocese of Orlando. St. Raphael was closed for Good Friday, and no one could be reached. Brother Aubin is to take up the new post on July 1. He replaces Brother Peter Zawot of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers, which was hired to run the school for nine years after it opened in 2000. Aubin will serve both as principal and president until a principal can be hired, Zawot said. Once solely in the president's position, Aubin will directly handle the business and financial affairs of the school, including support of educational and financial planning, fundraising, marketing and public relations. Aubin has spent 37 years in education. "With his breadth of experience, Brother Aubin is uniquely qualified to step into the role of president and lead Trinity Catholic High School to continue as a successful faith-based organization," Bishop Wenski said in a press release after he appointed Aubin. |
