Two men who identified themselves as friends of Sophornara Cham, the victim, flagged down a patrol car as it arrived at the scene at 88 Union Ave. The men, Jackie Chea and Scott Bun, told police that Cham had shot himself in the backyard of that address, according to a police report. Police found Cham lying on the ground in the backyard "in a pool of blood," the report states. He was being held by a woman identified as Sovandanny Tim, 21, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child. According to the report, police found a gun at Cham's feet, and a spent shell casing in an adjacent yard. Police said the case is under investigation. |
