PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence Teachers Union will host its annual Providence Princess Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at the union office at 99 Corliss St. The union provides donated gowns to local high school students who can't afford a prom dress. The event is also sponsored by the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority at Johnson & Wales University. The Lincoln School, a private girls' school in Providence, dropped off dozens of gowns Thursday. Shoes, jewelry and accessories have also been donated. |
