PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Attention WaterFire fans: The second WaterFire lighting in as many weeks will take place Saturday, beginning at 8:30 p.m. The partial lighting of 20 braziers in the Waterplace Park basin is being sponsored by the Garden Club of America, which is holding its annual meeting at the Rhode Island Convention Center this weekend. Saturday's basin-only lighting follows a similar event held last week with support from the U.S. Conference of Mayors. As always, WaterFire is weather-dependent. Heavy sustained rain showers may result in cancellation. Dates for WaterFire's 2009 season are due to be announced on May 7. |
