The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed $44,250 in fines against a New Bedford, Mass. company that the agency has cited with 34 workplace-safety violations. OSHA inspectors found mechanical, electrical, burn, fall and other hazards at F&B Rubberized Inc.'s Washburn Street plant, according to the agency. The hazards were found during inspections that began in November. The hazards included locked exits, lack of protective equipment for welders, untrained forklift operators and exposed live electrical parts, the agency said. The company has 15 days to respond to OSHA's citation and proposed fines. |
